How Much Does House Washing Cost in Wollongong?

If your walls have gone green on the shady side, or the eaves are full of cobwebs and grime, a house wash makes a big difference. But how much does it cost? See our house washing in Wollongong page for photos and a free quote.

There's no one price that fits every house. A single-storey brick home with a bit of grime is a very different job to a two-storey rendered house with mould on every wall. Here's what actually changes the price, and how to get a fixed quote.

What affects the cost of a house wash?

    • Size and storeys. More wall area takes longer. Two-storey homes also need more equipment and care to reach the upper levels safely.
    • What's included. Walls only, or walls plus eaves, fascia, gutter faces, window frames, garage doors and boundary walls? The more areas, the bigger the job.
    • Surface type. Render, painted brick, cladding and weatherboards each need the right low-pressure approach.
    • How much mould and grime there is. Light dust is quick. Heavy mould and algae on shaded walls need more treatment time.
    • Protecting the surroundings. Windows, doors and garden beds need covering or protecting, and some properties have more of that than others.
    • Access. Narrow side paths, steep blocks and plants close to the walls all take extra time.

Why soft washing and not high pressure?

High pressure can damage paint, render, cladding and weatherboards, and it can force water where it shouldn't go. That's why we soft wash. We use low-pressure water and cleaning solutions that kill mould, algae and lichen at the root, then rinse at low pressure.

Because the growth is treated rather than just blasted off the surface, the result lasts longer. Our guide to pressure washing vs soft washing explains the difference.

What should a house washing quote include?

    • Which walls and areas are included (eaves, fascia, gutter faces, window frames and so on)
    • The cleaning method for each surface
    • How windows, doors and gardens will be protected
    • Whether window glass cleaning is included or separate
    • Whether the price includes GST
    • Anything that's excluded

If one quote is much cheaper, check whether it covers the same areas and the same method.

How often should a house be washed?

Most homes in the Illawarra benefit from a wash every 12–24 months, but it depends on the house. Walls that get little sun, homes under trees and properties close to the coast tend to grow mould back faster than open, sunny walls. If you start to see green or black patches coming back on the shady side, it's time for another wash.

    Combine it with other jobs

A house wash is often booked alongside other cleaning. Doing the driveway and paths, roof or windows in the same visit usually works out better value than separate bookings.
